Better Body Fitness outfitted the expanded facility with over thirty new cardiovascular pieces from Precor and a new strength circuit from Hoist Fitness.
The HPER Complex, home to Oredigger Men’s and Women’s basketball and volleyball, was originally built in 1977. Funded by a student-driven initiative and student-approved addition of fees over time, the HPER complex underwent a $3.6 million overhaul in 2011-12. The project was approved by the university system’s Board of Regents, groundbreaking occurred in May of 2011 and was completed in May of 2012. The expansion includes 8,000 square feet of new workout space, as well as new locker room space, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and lighting systems.
